Temporarily suspending labour recruitment to Korea for 8 districts
(LĐXH)- The Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs has just announced that it will continue to suspend the recruitment of workers to work in Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS) phase 1 for 8 districts and towns, the city of 4 provinces, due to Vietnamese workers’ overdue and illegal stay in the host country.
Previously, in 2022, 8 localities of these 4 provinces were stopped from recruiting workers to Korea.
According to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the temporary suspension of labour recruitment in some localities is based on the Memorandum of Understanding on the EPS with Korea and the target, the roadmap to reduce illegal resident workers in the period of 2020-2022.
Accordingly, the temporary suspension of labour recruitment applies to districts with a number of illegal workers residing in Korea of more than 70 people and the percentage of employees whose contracts have expired and do not return home on time from 27% or more.
Currently, Korea is one of the key labour markets, attracting many Vietnamese workers with high wages, low exit costs and a good working environment.
Vietnamese labourers work in Korea in major fields such as manufacturing, construction, agriculture and fishery.../.
