Strengthen labour cooperation between Vietnam and Korea

(LĐXH)- On November 9, in Hanoi, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung had a meeting with Mr. Choi Young Sam - the newly-appointed Korean Ambassador to Vietnam. Minister Dao Ngoc Dung proposed that the Korean side continue to increase the quota for receiving Vietnamese workers under the Employment Permit System (EPS Program).

At the event, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung congratulated Mr. Choi Young Sam on his new assignment in Vietnam. The Minister believes that in his new position, the Ambassador will make an important and effective contribution to promoting the growing relationship between Vietnam and Korea.
The Minister highly appreciated the Vietnam-Korea relationship in many sectors such as economics, diplomacy, politics, culture, labour cooperation, employment, and social security. He thanked the active and close coordination of the leaders of the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labour, as well as relevant Korean agencies in recent times.
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung proposed that Korea continue to increase the quota for receiving Vietnamese workers under the EPS Program in the near future. At the same time, expand new occupations that the Korean side is in demand such as skilled technical workers, nursing, information technology...
Mr. Choi Young Sam thanked Minister Dao Ngoc Dung for taking the time to welcome him and the delegation. He emphasized that he will continue to promote the good relationship that the two countries have maintained for many years.
In his position as Korean Ambassador, Mr. Choi Young Sam wishes to discuss with the Minister some important issues that the Korean side is interested in.
According to Mr. Choi Young Sam, there are currently over 9,000 Korean workers working in Vietnam, mainly working in positions of experts, managers, and executives.
He hopes that Vietnam will continue to consider further relaxing requirements on work experience conditions when issuing permits to foreign workers.
Mr. Choi Young Sam also hopes that the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs as well as the Minister personally continue to pay attention and support Korea to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, especially in the sectors of labour, employment and other social issues in the coming time./.
